Stretton-on-Fosse is a quiet village on the fringe of the Cotswolds with easy links from the Roman Fosse Way (A429) to places of historical interest and quaint settlements.The conservation area of Stretton-on-Fosse has an eclectic mix of mellow Cotswold stone buildings - many of which are thatched.
St Peter's Church and the village hall enjoys a thriving community.
The local pub, The Plough Inn, is a 5 minute walk from Fir Tree Cottage. It is renowned for its excellent food and very friendly atmosphere.
It has an open fire and a varied and reasonably priced menu.There are many public footpaths around the village, making it an ideal spot for rambling. There is also a wide variety of birds.Stretton-on-Fosse is ideally placed as a base to visit Stratford, Warwick, Oxford, Banbury, Cheltenham and Cirencester as well as many beautiful villages such as Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Lower Slaughter, Brockley and Broadway.
